Orchid bun

I've realised that some buns can only be done with hair pins. The Orchid Bun is one of them. I've tried to secure it with sticks, forks, 1 Ficcare, 2 Ficcares, and Flexi-8s, but nothing has worked so far. Today I tried long bobby pins, and they worked wonderfully. I clipped my Roman Stone over it afterwards, because I wanted to wear it today ^-^

Pinned

Lately I've been experimenting with pinned buns. By that I mean buns that are held solely by hair pins. I've mostly been using a combination of crinkly amish pins and spin pins, but yesterday I got my hands on some loooong bobby pins.
I saw a bun tutorial by Torrin Paige a while ago, where she secured a cinnabun with only 4 long bobbypins. I wanted to try that too, only I wasn't trying to do it with only 4 pins (because that would never work on my hair!). My goal was to use less than 20. I lost count by the time I got to 6, but I don't think I used more than 10-12. The pins hold fairly well and the bun is comfortable, though it does move a bit when I walk. I added a tiny Flexi-8 for some bling.
