Vermillion Red

A week ago I decided to spice up my red hair colour with some Directions dye. I used Vermillion Red on the top layer and Pillarbox red on the bottom layer, but I can't see any difference between the colours. Next time I'll stick to one colour all over. I really enjoy the deeper red I get from using temporary dyes over the henna, and it's not too much of a hassle to do either. It took about 1 hour or maybe a bit less to apply, and I left it on for around 2 hours. I know that you're supposed to leave it on for much longer, but I'm too impatient for that. I still think I got a great result.

I've only washed once since I dyed, and I'm trying to stretch washes a bit in order to make the colour last longer. I usually wash every 3-4 days, but this time I went 7 days without washing.
I want to try Flame or Fire next time, and I'm also toying with the idea of using Cerise some day, because I love that colour.

After rinsing out the dye and drying my hair:

Next day, after curling my hair a bit with bendy rollers:

Today, after washing and drying:
I made the ponytail by taking two sections of nape hair, putting them around the remaining hair and securing them on top with a flexi-8 in size XS.

Insert Exciting Title Here

I think we should just conclude that I'm a terrible blogger. Seriously. I didn't forget about the blog, I just kept saying to myself "I'll do a post tomorrow instead". Clearly "tomorrow" means "never" in my world. Ah well. Once again I'll try to get better, but I'm not making any promises. =P

Since last time I posted, I've decided that I'll cut my hair back to waist during the easter break. I'm sick of these damaged, ratty, tangly ends, and I also want to wear my hair down more. I guess I'm just in the mood for a big change. I'll probably end up letting it grow long again after that, because I seriously doubt I'll be able to remember to cut my hair. =P
I've also learned to make fabric and satin flowers, which is a lot of fun. I made an obnoxiously huge tulip comb for myself today, and I'm so thrilled with it. I may open an etsy store some day, otherwise I'll probably drown in satin flowers.

Mint and Purple

Today's updo: Folded braid. I thought these were impossible until I saw JJJ Longhair's tutorial. Then I realized that I had just been doing it wrong - at least wrong for my hair. I'm extremely pleased with this method, and I may try it with a Ficcare tomorrow. I tried with a Flexi-8 today, and that didn't work at all. I had to re-do it with these clippies.

I really like how my hair colour looks in the sun. I just ordered a new batch of henna, and it should be here in two weeks time. I haven't hennaed for months now, and my roots are getting crazy. ^-^

Greetings!

Good news, everyone! This is a post I wrote two weeks ago. I'm returning soon, and I shall hopefully bring lots of lovely pictures for you. I'm also sure that a ton of claw clips have arrived in my absence, and those shall be tried on too. Have a lovely weekend!

Orchid bun

My orchid bun turned out super shiny and sleek today, and I just had to share a picture. Have I mentioned that I love the leopard clippies?? Yes, several times, silly! I think they're so fabulous, and a good match for my red hair. I also love that I only need 4 medium clips to hold a bun. I thought my crazy hair need a ton of clips or huge clips, but no, 4 mediums are enough. These only work for twisted buns though, they won't hold a nautilus bun or a lazy wrap. Or they'll hold it and it will be quite comfy, but the bun will slowly fall apart and become very, very ugly. Trust me, it happened to me today. It looked nice when I put it up at my boyfriend's place, but by the time I had gotten home (took about 1 hour), the bun had become an unrecognizable mess. It was hideous!

Manic Panic and tiny claws

I dyed my hair with Manic Panic last week, because my henna turned out to not be henna, and I wanted to dye my hair. So far I'm very happy with the results, so much so that I've already purchased some Directions dye in Vermillion Red. I may get a few tubs of a different shade too.
This time I used MP Infra Red and Rock'n Roll Red, though both look very similar on my hair. My hair took the dye really well, despite being part hennaed and part virgin (I had a few cm of blonnette roots). I've only washed once since I dyed, and the colour has faded a little bit. Still pretty intense though.

In other news, the back of my head suddenly decided it didn't want me to secure my buns there anymore. I've tried to do different buns and secure them in different places, but clearly that wasn't good enough. The last few days I've been living in double buns held with small claw clips, bobby pins, and spin pins. I bought some cheap claws at H&M, but to say that they are low quality is an understatement. Good enough to keep my hair up for now, but I'm never buying any of those again. Instead, I went crazy on Ebay and purchased a bunch of cute, little clips there. And because they may take ages to arrive, I bought two sets at Accessorize today. These are bigger the ones from H&M, much more expensive, but they seem to be less snaggy. Also, pretty colours!!

And a few pictures of my recent 'dos. The first are twin logrolls, and the second are lopsided cinnamon buns/beebutt buns. I wanted to be Princess Leia today ^-^
